Improvements to Moosomin’s airport and the town of Moosomin byelection will be on the agenda at the September meeting of the Moosomin Chamber of Commerce.
The September meeting will be held Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 11:45 am at the Canalta Hotel meeting room.
Jeff St. Onge and Dr. Schalk Van Der Merwe will speak about a plan to improve Moosomin’s airport.
The airport currently has a gravel runway.
A local group would like to upgrade the runway to allow the Saskatchewan Air Ambulance to serve Moosomin.
The town of Moosomin passed a motion June 27 that it supports in principle the airport upgrade.
The two candidates in the Moosomin byelection, Greg Nosterud and Amy Johnson, have been invited to introduce themselves to Chamber members at the September meeting.
Both candidates said they plan to attend the meeting.
The two have been nominated for one vacant position on Moosomin town council caused by the resignation of Teddi Taylor.
A byelection is set for Wednesday, October 3 to fill the vacancy.
