A RCMP Member from the Craik Detachment was conducting a vehicle stop in southbound lanes of Highway 11 near Girvin Monday evening when a stolen vehicle swerved towards the police SUV at an estimated speeds of 130 km/h, narrowly missing the vehicle and the Craik member.

The Craik member attempted to stop the vehicle but when it did not pull over, the member did not pursue it.

A short time later, RCMP from other detachments located the suspect vehicle near Findlater and members initiated a pursuit which ended once a spike belt was deployed by Lumsden Valley.

Three tires of the suspect vehicle were deflated which slowed it to approximately 10kms per hour.

The suspect vehicle then struck the rear end of a White Butte RCMP police vehicle at low speed bringing the pursuit to a stop near Lumsden.

Two adult females were arrested and face the following charges.

Menyll Ochuschayoo (1994-07-02) of Meadow Lake is charged with: Assault with a weapon, Flight from Police X2, Possess stolen property over $5000, Possess stolen property under $5000.

Shanee Axelson (1995-11-07) of Regina is charged with: Possess stolen property over $5000, Possess stolen property under $5000 X5.

Both suspects are being held in custody and will make their next court appearance on Tuesday November 27, 2018 in provincial court in Moose Jaw.
