Bradley Tomms charged with Virden murder

On Tuesday January 15, 2019, at approximately 12:30 am, Virden RCMP responded to a report of a stabbing at a residence located on Queen Street West in the community of Virden.

Upon arrival, officers located two men who were involved in an altercation with each other, a 22-year-old man from Virden and a 27-year-old man from the Canupawakpa Dakota First Nation.

Both men were transported to hospital with serious injuries.

Bradley Kenneth Tomms, 22, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault and Uttering Threats. He was remanded into custody for a court appearance scheduled in Brandon Provincial Court.

RCMP were advised on January 16 that the 27-year-old succumbed to his injuries sustained in the assault.

The next day, Bradley Kenneth Tomms was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder and once again remanded into custody.

The RCMP's Major Crimes Unit continues to investigate.
