Premier Blaine Higgs of New Brunswick will be joining Opposition Leader Andrew Scheer, Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe, and Senator Denise Batters for a Pro-Resource Rally in Moosomin this Saturday, February 16.

Higgs has spoken in favor of the Energy East Pipeline, which would carry Western Canadian oil to the Irving Oil Refinery in Saint John, New Brunswick.

The Pro-Resource Rally will take place at 11 am this Saturday, at 11 am at the new IJack assembly plant just north of Moosomin on Highway 8

Higgs said Wednesday that he discussed Energy East when he met with Opposition Leader Andrew Scheer during a visit to New Brunswick by Scheer Tuesday and Wednesday.

"We recognize that the pipeline project was stopped because of the change in regulations midstream," Higgs said.

"We have alignment right now in New Brunswick, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta.

"I'm going to be attending the Pro-Resource Rally in Moosomin on Saturday. It's in support of their movement to bring jobs back to Canada, and I believe that's exciting, because the people organizing it are people who are working every day, standing up for their livelihood and that's exactly what we're supposed to do as political leaders."
