Fatal dirtbike collision with train

On June 16, 2019, at 5:50 pm, officers from the Oakbank RCMP responded to a report of a collision between a dirt bike and a train at the railway crossing situated on Spruce Road, located north of Oakwood Road in the RM of Springfield, Manitoba
Officers have determined that a dirt bike heading north bound on Spruce Road, being operated by a 15-year-old male from Oakbank, collided into an eastbound train.
The operator of the dirt bike was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Officers from the Oakbank Detachment along with CP Police and a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist continue to investigate.
