Motorcyclist loses his life after latest collision at Highways 1 and 9

A 62-year-old motorcyclist has succumbed to his injuries after a collision at the intersection of Highways 1 and 9 at Whitewood Wednesday.

On Wednesday, July 24, 2019, at approximately 11:53 a.m., Broadview RCMP responded to a serious motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle and a Correctional Service Canada (CSC) transport vehicle on the intersection of Highway 1 and Highway 9 near Whitewood, SK.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 62-year-old male, was transported to a hospital in Broadview where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Officers received no reports of injuries to the driver or the passengers of the CSC transport vehicle.

The Correctional Services van was transporting 10 prisoners to federal prison.

There was no indication that alcohol was a factor in the collision. There are no charges anticipated.

The investigation is ongoing.
