On Nov. 21, 2019, at approximately 4:08 a.m., three semi-trucks were involved in a traffic collision on Highway 39 near Roche Percee, SK.

Estevan RCMP, EMS and Estevan Fire and Rescue all attended the scene.

One semi-truck was travelling from North Portal when the semi-truck jack knifed.

Shortly after, a second semi-truck driving south east collided with the jackknifed semi-truck and split the trailer from the tractor.

Just a few minutes after the first collision, a third semi-truck, also travelling south east, collided with the second semi-truck which pushed it into a ditch.

The third semi-truck started on fire.

All three drivers and the single passenger were quickly located and accounted for.

Two of the drivers and the passenger were transported to hospital in Estevan and were released later that morning.

At the time of the collision, the highways were observed to be icy and rutted. Visibility was poor due to the fog in the area.

The investigation is ongoing.
