At 3:16 p.m. April 27, 2017, Esterhazy/Langenburg RCMP arrested a convicted sex offender on a Canada-wide warrant on Highway 16 in Langenburg. 46-year-old Joseph Davis was arrested without incident and is currently in police custody.

"The RCMP would like to thank a vigilant member of the public who reported the grey vehicle to police. Public safety is paramount. I would like to recognize the excellent work by Esterhazy/Langenburg members which resulted in the safe arrest of the adult male." said Insp. Ted Munro, Acting South District Commander

Joseph Davis is a four-time federal offender who has served a four-year sentence for sexual assault, and is serving a long-term supervision order.

In December 2007, Joseph Davis sexually assaulted a real estate agent in Winnipeg, Manitoba, after luring her to his home.

In 2001, he was convicted of assault causing bodily harm and forcible confinement of a female sex trade worker he invited to his residence.

Davis was staying at a halfway house in Vancouver and has failed to report as required.
