Today, Premier Brad Wall will attend his last cabinet meeting and government caucus meeting.

He has also submitted his resignation as MLA for Swift Current, effective January 31.

“It has been an incredible honour and privilege to be elected five times by the people of my home town of Swift Current and to serve as their voice in the Legislature for over 18 years,” Wall said.

Wall said it will be tough to say goodbye to his cabinet and caucus colleagues at his final meeting with them today.

“It will be a little sad, but at the same time, I’m feeling pretty good about what we have accomplished together and about the future of our province,” Wall said.

“There is a sign over the cabinet room door that says ‘Did you leave things better than you found them?’ It’s a reminder to all of us of what we should be trying to achieve in public life.”

The new Saskatchewan Party Leader will be elected by party members this Saturday, January 27, and will be sworn in as Premier a few days later.

Wall will deliver the keynote speech at that event this weekend.
