It will be a busy weekend in Moosomin, with special events stretching from Thursday to Sunday. The three main events set for this weekend are the Tim Hortons Outdoor Eventplex opening on Thursday night, the school reunion and homecoming running Thursday to Sunday, and the Moosomin Rodeo Friday and Saturday.

The Tim Hortons Eventplex opening is a full evening of activities Thursday, including a barbecue supper at the PotashCorp Sportsplex, the grand opening of the Tim Hortons Outdoor Eventplex and the re-opening of Borderland Co-op’s Murray Newman Field, inductions into the Wall of Fame, the 2017 Parks and Recreation Awards, and a performance by the Adam T Elvis Show on the outdoor stage at the Tim Hortons Eventplex.

The school reunion will see hundreds of people return to the community to reunite with family and friends. It kicks off with the Thursday night events at the Eventplex, and continues with a social on Friday night, reunion ceremonies and class photos Saturday afternoon, and a dance Saturday night.

Saturday morning will start off with the Firemen’s Pancake Breakfast at 7-9 am, followed by the Chamber of Commerce parade at 10 am, a ball drop where pingpong balls will be dropped from a manlift—with one valued at $1,000 in Moosomin Bucks, and dozens more including specials and offers from local businesses.

At lunch time on Saturday, four of Moosomin’s multicultural communities will put on a multicultural lunch at the Armoury Hall.

The event will feature meals and presentations by the Filipino, Honduran, South Korean, and East Indian Communities.

The 24th annual Moosomin Rodeo goes Friday and Saturday, July 7 and 8.

Friday will feature beer gardens, rodeo events starting at 6:30, and entertainment in the beer gardens following the rodeo by two-time Manitoba Country Music Association Root Artist of the Year Quinton Blair.

Saturday’s events include a Bucking Bull Futurity at 1 pm, a Kids Carnival from 1-5 pm, the Moosomin Rodeo Idol singing competition at the beer gardens at 2:30 pm, and a rodeo performance at 6:30 pm, including a Wild Pony Race at intermission. Saturday night will feature entertainment in the beer gardens following the rodeo by two-time Manitoba Country Music Association Root Artist of the Year Quinton Blair.

Sunday morning, Moosomin’s churches are getting together for a Cowboy Church Service at the Rodeo Grounds. The church service is being organized by the Moosomin Association of Churches. The Cowboy church service will feature music by Anthony Kelly, a member of the local Anglican parish who is an accomplished country musician. Are you interested in european betting sites?
