Gerald Godfrey Hutchinson passed away peacefully on May 13, 2017 at the SEICC with family by his side. Gerry, the only son of 3 children, was born May 22, 1927 on the family farm to Fred and Betty Hutchinson.

His early years were spent farming with his dad, later taking over the family farm when his parents retired to Rocanville in 1957. He married Anne Bock on December 7, 1957. They started a life together, farming and raising six children. Gerry spent many hours at the skating rink first watching his sons and later his grandchildren play hockey. He was interested in all sports and spent hours watching hockey, curling, and ball.

In 1961 he went into the Pedigreed seed business that expanded over the next 45 years to a modern family operation known as Hilltop Seed Farm. He never lost interest in the latest development of seed varieties and kept his sons informed.

Gerry served on many boards over the years. He also kept up with current events through his love of reading. He was always ready to discuss farming, politics, sports or world events.

After his retirement to Rocanville in 2005 he still enjoyed going out to the farm to help when able and also worked on his tractor collection he had accumulated over the years.

Gerry was a great family man and will be lovingly remembered by his wife Anne, Valerie McAuley, Bruce (Angela), Randy (Sheree), Sandra (Wayne), Fred, Cameron (Pam), his grandchildren, great- grandchildren, and his sisters Helen and Anne.
