Jim passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on June 13, 2017 at 11:45 pm.

He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Betty and their children Cindy, Jim (Iris) Barta and Tracey (Brian) Raymond: grandchildren Matthew (Matthew Myers), Amy (Evan Graham) and Samantha.

Also survived by his brothers Richard (Doris) Barta and their children; Gerald Barta; sister Mary Sanderson, her children; and many nieces and nephews.

Jim was predeceased by his mother Vilma, father James and step-mother Clara also several aunts and uncles.

Jim spent many years as a farm machinery and automotive mechanic. First in their own business in Kennedy (Barta Farm Equipment); then a move to Moosomin in 1966 where he worked for Gillis Motors, Bradley’s and lastly at Celebration Ford until retirement.

Jim enjoyed spending time with his family and having visitors. He loved music and singing and was crazy for game shows on the television. When he was a young man he always drove a great car, and had a motorcycle that was his pride and joy.

A private interment will be held at a later date.
