Bruno Pranke passed away peacefully at the Whitewood Community Health Centre on Friday, February 2, 2018 at the age of 96 years.

He was predeceased by his parents Peter and Martha (Kempin); one brother Arthur, his children’s mother Hedwig and his son Wesley. Bruno is survived by his son Harvey, daughters Darlene and Jenny (Len) Sielecki; grandchildren Kathryn Pranke, Andrew Pranke, Christine Pranke, and Matthew Sielecki. He is also survived by two sisters Hilda and Alma Davey and one brother Bill (Sonja) and many nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada and Germany.

Bruno was born in Poland and immigrated to Canada with his family in 1928. They farmed near Wapella, Saskatchewan. Bruno served overseas with the Canadian Army during WWII and after the war worked in Edmonton for a time. It was there he married and their first child was born. They then returned to Wapella to farm and raised three more children.

Funeral services were held at the Whitewood Evangelical Church on Thursday, February 8 with Pastor Joseph Steeves officiating, Interment was in Wapella Cemetery.
