Alain Charles DeCorby, of Rocanville, beloved husband of Karen and loving dad of Alexis, passed away at the Southeast Integrated Care Centre, Moosomin, on Monday, May 7, 2018 at the age of 56 years.

Alain was born October 5, 1961 in Esterhazy, Saskatchewan. He was the fifth child of Henry and Finna. On November 11, 1991, he married the love of his life Karen Marie Clegg. Together they owned and operated Section 7 Ranch, and on September 14, 1996 were blessed to bring Alexis Mary Finna into the world, to join in their life on the farm.

Alain was predeceased by his dad, Henry, his grandparents May and Elie DeCorby, and Egyill and Sigrudur Ingjaldson, his father-in-law Maurice Clegg and mother-in-law Mary Clegg.

Alain is lovingly remembered by his wife Karen and daughter Alexis, his mom, Finna, and his brothers and sisters, Michael (Bev), Marcel (Debbie), Della (Mark), Adrien (Taunie), Roger (Bonny), Noelle (Chris), Ray (Maureen), John (Mary) and Jacques (Sharma), and brother-in-law Lyle and sister-in-law Susan (Tony), and his many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Alain is also fondly remembered by his many aunts, uncles, and cousins in the DeCorby and Ingjaldson families, and by his many dear friends.

Alain always had an independent and fearless spirit, which contributed to both worry for and great admiration from those who love him. His competitiveness and curiousity motivated him to refine his knowledge and skills, and acquire many notable achievements, at school and in sports, and in the show ring. Alain always seemed to enjoy a good argument and worked hard to have others understand his point of view. His work ethic is legendary, as is his passion for good cooking. His family knows how grateful he was to have the life that he did, and will always be in awe of his courage.

His family is very grateful to the staff at the Southeast Integrated Care Centre for their attentive and compassionate care of Alain and those who were privileged to spend time with him during his final days.
