It is with great sadness our family announces the passing of Lyla, September 16, at 90 years of age at her home of Albright Manor, Beamsville, Ont.

Lyla was born in Rocanville, Sask. one of seven children to Olive and William Street. She moved to Winnipeg in 1949 to work at the T. Eaton Co.

In June of 1950 mom married Bruce Brownlee in Rocanville and they moved east to Toronto where all three of their children were born. In 1963 they moved to St. Catharines, Ont. to raise their family.

Left to cherish Lyla’s memory are Son Dale; Daughter Darlene Hudson; granddaughter Candra; grandson Brennan; son Darrell (Edith); son-in-law Tom Hudson and many nieces and nephews across Canada.

Once the kids were old enough, mom loved getting back to the workforce; in the 1970’s Lyla worked at the office of Singers Auto Body. Then on to the offices of Trojan Security. Mom loved her trips to Las Vegas, she could often be found playing a mini poker game at home and she was always up for a crib game.

Mom loved talking to her sisters Ruth Romanow in Vancouver, and Madeline Parker in Toronto and she would comment frequently how much she missed them once they passed. We know all three of you are busy catching up now.

Our family wishes to express their sincere thanks to all the staff of Albright Manor for their compassionate care of Lyla.
