Keith Blackmore of Fort Saskatchewan, Alts. passed away Thursday, February 27, 2020 in his 87th year after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born October 27, 1933, on 24-9-30 W1 south of Maryfield, Sask. to Constance (nee Gooderham) and Walter Ashley Blackmore.

Keith is predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Rita Marie (nee Peloquin).

He is survived by sons Brian Ashley and Craig Edward (Arlene), granddaughters Olivia Annette and Heidi Amanda, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Keith grew up on the home farm and attended Heron School. On October 15, 1966 he married Rita and they spent 40 years on their farm near Maryfield, Sask. Keith was a Certified Seed Grower with a keen interest in crop production. In 2006 Keith and Rita retired to Fort Saskatchewan, Alta.

Throughout his life Keith enjoyed square dancing and travel, especially the family’s annual trips by motorhome and numerous cruises taken after retirement. Family gatherings during holiday seasons or at the lake in summer were special times for him. Keith and Rita spent 20 winters in Mesa, AZ as snowbirds.

A private interment will take place in the City of Fort Saskatchewan Cemetery at a future date. Tributes in Keith’s memory can be made to cancer research or the charity of your choice.
