Shannon Salmon of Moosomin, Sask. beloved wife of Blaine Salmon passed away at Regina General Hospital Wednesday, September 23, 2020 with cherished friends and family by her side.

Shannon is survived by her loving husband Blaine, stepdaughter Andrea (Dean), her brother David (Shelley); sister-in-law Betsy; brother-in-law Felix, nieces and nephews, Shannon (Jay), Tracy, Drew (Royanne), Derek (Stefanie), Shalen (Ciaran), and Megan; and great nieces and nephews, Danielle (Anthony), Chantal, Kody, Ava, Mia, Jackson, Brody, and Blake.

Shannon was predeceased by her parents Jack and Mattie Bilboe; sister Jacqui Filbrandt, brother Ron Bilboe, and Blaines parents, Guy and Irma Salmon.

Due to the current world situation a private funeral service for Shannon was held September 30 at Carscadden Funeral Chapel in Moosomin with Reverend Carolyn Woodall officiating. The service was simultaneously broadcast at Speers Funeral Home in Regina.

Shannon was born in Regina, graduating from the Thom Collegiate High School in 1974. She then started her career in the insurance industry working for 20 years in administration with Mutual Life of Canada.

While still working for Mutual Life, Shannon met Blaine in Regina in 1991, and eventually made the big move to the farm.

After moving to the farm Shannon worked for the Credit Union in Wawota and Moosomin, she was a district manager with Avon Canada and finished her working career in insurance sales, retiring two years ago.

Shannon’s interests growing up included highland dancing, since her mom was born in Scotland. Blaine and Shannon enjoyed watching curling and CFL football. They travelled many times to Briers and Scotties and Grey Cups around the country.

Shannon’s favorite pastimes included shopping, going to the tea house, dining out and travelling. She made trips to Scotland and England to visit family. Blaine and Shannon also really enjoyed their warm winter vacations.

In the summer, Shannon loved to decorate the farmyard with her special touch of beautiful flowers. Shannon was an excellent cook and enjoyed baking. She was also a pet-lover and had numerous indoor and outdoor cats. Shannon had a real love for dogs including Muffin, Casey and Lexi.
