Several Christmas events are coming up this week across the area, starting with the CP Holiday Train coming through the area on Wednesday, and wrapping up with the Redvers Winter Festival on Saturday. There are also two carol festivals this week—in Esterhazy Wednesday evening and in Moosomin Sunday.

CP Holiday Train Wednesday
The CP Holiday train will be making stops in Virden, Moosomin and Broadview this Wednesday. At each stop, Terri Clark, Kelly Prescott and Sierra Noble will perform.

At Moosomin, the Moosomin Food Share and Thrift Store have a lot planned for the CP Holiday Train visit, which will take place on the CP main line just east of Scotiabank.

The Holiday Train will stop at 11:55 am in Moosomin Wednesday. There will be free hot chocolate courtesy of Conexus Credit Union, and there will be a chili cookoff, with 15 individuals, businesses, and organizations cooking chili for people to try, free of charge!
Donations will be accepted for Moosomin’s Food Share. See page 3 for an article with more details.

Rocanville light up Thursday
Rocanville’s late night Christmas shopping nights kick off this Thursday, December 6 with the Light-Up Night.

There will be a tree lighting at 7 pm, and a weiner roast at the fire hall courtesy of the Rocanville Fire Department.

A trade show and bake sale will be held from 5-7 pm at Hope Congregational Church next to the fire hall, there will be a Christmas craft at the library at 6 pm, local businesses will have in-store specials, and Chase the Ace will take place at the rink. Rocanville stores will also be open late on December 13 and December 20.

Esterhazy Moonlight Madness Thursday
This Thursday, December 6 will be your chance to do your Christmas shopping in Esterhazy. Retail stores will be open until 10 pm.

Several home based businesses will be setting up in downtown locations to add to the shopping options available.

Moonlight Madness is being organized by the Esterhazy Retail and Services group, a spinoff from the town’s economic development committee.

Esterhazy Santa Day Saturday
Santa Claus is coming to Esterhazy! This coming Saturday, December 8 is Santa Day in Esterhazy. The event is sponsored by the town of Esterhazy. At 2 pm, there will be a free movie, Arthur Christmas, at the Maple Leaf Theatre. In this hilarious Christmas tale, Santa’s clumsy son Arthur sets out on a mission with St. Nick’s father to give out a present they misplaced to a young girl in less than two hours.

From 4-6:30 pm there will be free skating at the Dana Antal Arena.

Kids can visit Santa from 5-7 pm at the SN Boreen Centre, where hot dogs and hot chocolate will be served!

Sleigh rides will be offered from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at the SN Boreen Centre, sponsored by the Twin Valley Vet Clinic and Dr. Noble.
