The town of Moosomin will be asking residents to carefully watch their water usage next week.

Work will be done on the town's water system starting Monday, May 13, meaning that the town will be relying on its water reserves.

Mike Stein of the town of Moosomin says the town usually goes through 200,000-250,000 gallons of water a day, and can use much more if there is a water break or a fire, but with work being done next week, the town will be restricted for three days to 700,000 gallons of water reserves. "We won't be able to produce any water for three days, so it's important that people don't use more water than they need."

Stein said the main header and the main line that goes out from the water plant to feed the town water lines will be replaced. "This will be a one-time repair, and it will be there for the new water plant when it's built," said Stein.

The town is asking residents to avoid any unnecessary water usage from Monday, May 13 to Wednesday, May 15.
