On June 20, Moosomin RCMP in conjunction with Yorkton Provincial General Investigation Section arrested 2 women from Moosomin.
A quantity of suspected cocaine was seized during the arrest.
A search warrant was subsequently executed at a residence in Moosomin.
This arrest was a culmination of a three-month long investigation into drug activity in Moosomin and the surrounding area.
Charged are 26-year-old Karly Anne Wall and 59-year-old Sherrie Lynn Hofos, both of Moosomin.
Wall is charged with two counts of trafficking and one count of possession for the purposes of trafficking. Hofos is charged with possession for the purposes of trafficking.
Wall was transported to Yorkton to appear in court Friday morning June 21st, and Hofos was released on a recognizance by investigators.
They will appear in Moosomin court at a later date to face those charges.
Sgt Scott Fefchak of the Moosomin RCMP says the focus on drugs will continue. “The RCMP continues to investigate drug trafficking in the communities we serve and will continue to do so as long as it remains an issue,” he said.
