Charges laid after pedestrian fatality over the weekend

At approximately 3:30 am on June 17, 2018, White Butte RCMP responded to a complaint of a collision involving a vehicle and pedestrian in the eastbound lanes of Highway #1 at White City, Saskatchewan.

A 25-year-old male from Regina was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Officers arrested and later charged 24-year-old Mathew Scott of Cupar, Saskatchewan with:

· one count of Impaired Driving Causing Death, Section 255(3) of the Criminal Code

· one count of Operating a Vehicle exceeding 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 ml of blood causing death, Section 255(3.1) of the Criminal Code.

Scott will appear in Regina Provincial court on July 18, 2018.

The investigation into the collision is continuing.
