On Tuesday, December 20, 2016 Anne passed away at the Peter Lougheed Hospital in Calgary, Alta. at the age of 91. Anne was born to William and Emma (Wacker) Stuike on June 12, 1925 in the RM of Prairie Rose near Jansen, Saskatchewan. She was the third of ten children.

Anne had many wonderful memories of growing up on her parents farm, helping with the chores and harvest, family gatherings and of the friends she made during her years at the Prairie Rose School.

In 1941 Anne went to St. Catharines, Ontario to help with the war effort and found work in a factory. She met other people from Saskatchewan there and soon was introduced to Henry Rempel, also from Saskatchewan. Anne and Henry were married on October 17, 1942 and were married for just over 70 years when Henry passed away in 2012.

After Henry was discharged from the army they moved to Jansen, SK, Anne’s’ home town. In 1955 they bought a farm near Virden, Man. Henry worked as a mechanic and Anne was busy with her family of four children. Marlene, Sharon, Brent and Glen.

In 1965 they opened a Radiator Repair Shop in Moosomin, SK and Anne worked at the Hi Way Confectionary store and kept books for the Trinity Lutheran Church for a while.

After selling the Radiator Repair Shop they decided to move to Kelowna, B.C. and then settled in Calgary, Alta. Anne worked for and then managed The Fancy Pantry, a shop in the Chinook Centre Mall and Henry worked on heavy duty equipment. When it was time to retire they bought a house in Calgary and spent the summers visiting family, went on bus tours and Anne helped organize many family reunions which were well attended and very much enjoyed. When Parkinson’s limited Henry’s abilities they sold their house and bought a condo in Calgary and then moved to the Beverly Estate where more care was available. Anne moved to the Prince of Peace Manor in Calgary to be closer to her sons after Henry passed away.

Anne is survived by her daughter Marlene (Andrew) Kernel, sons Brent (Jean) Rempel and Glen Rempel, and son-in-law Larry Tuckwood, grandchildren Ray Kernel, Rick Kernel (Cindy Mathe), Lisa (Rob) Gilliland; Brad Tuckwood, Laura Tuckwood, Candice (Anton) Kouznetsov, Chris Dingman and Shauna Rempel; great-grandchildren Damian (Cozy) Stendall, Brendon Kernel, Ashton Gilliland, Andi Gilliland, Abbi Gilliland, Mitchell Tuckwood, Bryton Tuckwood, Arianna Tuckwood, Anya Kouznetsov, Alek Kouznetsov, Isaac Dingman and Kayla Dingman.
