Allan was born May 13th, 1940 in Esterhazy and passed away on October 4th, 2019 surrounded by his family at the South East Integrated Care Centre in Moosomin.

Allan attended school in Tantallon and then continued his education attending the Sask Vocational AG school two-year program.

Allan started his farming career at the age of 16 with the help of his dad, settling on the home quarter of SE 9-18-32 W1st in November of 1961.

In November of 1961, Allan married Alma Springer. They had four children during the years they were married Evan, Bernadette, Holly, and Tim. In 1984, Allan and Marilyn met at a Riding Club Dance. In 1986, Marilyn and her two children, Shelly and Trevor, moved to the farm where the two families became one. Marilyn and Allan celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in 2016.

Their farming operation included grain, cattle, and elk. Marilyn worked beside Allan, learning how to drive farm equipment and becoming Allan’s equal in that regard. The round baler was the only machine that Marilyn didn’t want to deprive Allan the pleasure of operating.

In addition to farming, Allan worked at the mines as a journeyman electrician, obtaining his certification through correspondence classes.

Allan was actively involved in his community, serving on various boards and in clubs, including the Ag society, School Board, Lions Club, and 4-H.

Allan is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn, his children Evan (Tracy), Bernadette, Holly (Neil), Tim, Shelley (John), and Trevor. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Brandon (Bryanna), Cheyenne (John), Alicia (Jon), Christopher (Chantal), Lindsay (Joe), Quinn (Tanisha), Hunter (Jaeleon), Kyra, Jessica (Brent), Chase (Kennedy), and Kalan.
