Diane Neufeld

Souris - Moose Mountain: PPC

Name, age, hometown:
Diane Neufeld, 59, Maryfield, SK

Tell us about yourself:
Living in and around Maryfield, SK all of my life, I am dedicated to making a difference in the lives of the people in our community and our country.  It is time to stand up to assist in creating and establishing a better environment and country for our children, grandchildren and all future generations to come.

I believe it is important to stand up for what you believe in, maintain your morals and cultivate core values.  I take pride in establishing long lasting relationships through honesty, integrity and by helping others.

I am a very passionate individual who believes in bettering the community one task or person at a time.

Be the change that you want to see! – my motto

What’s one thing that very few people know about you?

That my son died in a tragic work accident last year.

Why should voters give you their vote?
Our current world is changing drastically for our children and grandchildren – what we knew and had growing up is being ERASED and we need to vote for change in the right direction to get back to the basics which is what the PPC stands for to provide a good environment to grow up in once again.

The first priority would be to regain our freedom of choice, in your business, your homes, in schools, work places and personally and reinstate our Human Rights. We would revoke the mandates as we would not mandate anything, it would be up to the individual’s decision and choice. - Because none of any of the other issues matter, if we don’t have our freedom.

What is your greatest strength? What is your greatest weakness?
My greatest strength is that I am a passionate person and I fight for what is right.

My greatest weakness is that I am a passionate person!

Your greatest strength is also your greatest weakness – they go hand in hand.

 Where do you stand on:
The need for more pipelines?

Definitely, we need to have pipelines to transport our resources in the safest way possible to avoid more unnecessary tragedy’s such as the Lac-Mégantic tragedy.

The Carbon Tax?
The Carbon Tax has no benefit and needs to be abolished.  It will break our country otherwise.

The level of the federal deficit and debt?

In 2020-2021, the Liberals recorded a $354 billion deficit, and Canada’s net debt surpassed $1 trillion (or $1000 billion) for the first time. The debt will keep climbing, if we don’t take the opportunity that we have right now to stop it by voting differently.

A People’s Party government will:

  • Phase out all covid spending programs and reverse new spending programs announced by the Trudeau government.
  • Get rid of the deficit by the end of a first mandate through fiscal prudence and spending cuts, including corporate welfare ($5B-$10B), foreign development aid ($5B), CBC ($1B), equalization payments, and funding for programs which are provincial or municipal responsibilities.
  • Stop using our tax system for political ends and make it simpler and fairer. In particular, it will eliminate targeted tax measures that are inefficient and serve no compelling public policy purpose.
  • Cut personal income taxes, corporate taxes, and the personal capital gains tax after the deficit has been eliminated, over the course of several budgets, as the fiscal room is found to allow it.

    Federal support for agriculture?
The second mandate is then going to see tax breaks. Many farms operate as businesses, because they are businesses. The small business tax rate will be cut to 10%.

As a farmer, if you want that 10% tax rate in 4 years, you HAVE to vote PPC this election. The other options for Government are claiming that it will take up to a decade to accomplish this.

PPC will get this relief to you starting immediately with the removal of carbon tax. And then tax cuts on your personal and small business income. We also will not be pursuing capital gains taxes.

The federal response to the Covid-19 crisis?
The response was authoritarian at best with very little scientific backing or rational, common sense thinking.

The PPC would not have mandated anything, from a federal or provincial point of view – it would have been up to the individual business as to what implications they would have chosen.

We believe in freedom of choice.
Our COVID Policy in our platform states:
We would have and will continue to promote a rational and scientific approach to the pandemic and focus on the protection of the most vulnerable, guarantee the freedom of Canadians to make decisions based on informed consent, and reject coercion and discrimination.

We oppose vaccine mandates, vaccine passports, and other authoritarian measures imposed by provincial governments, and we would support individuals and groups.

The state of ethics in our federal government?
My mother taught me that if I didn’t have anything nice to say, I shouldn’t say anything at all.

Are we facing a climate crisis?
    Not a natural climate crisis.

    Who inspires you?
My 9 grandchildren – they inspire me to be the best person I can be – At the same time, I believe in continual growth and that we are a continual work in progress.  Through this attitude, I believe I will also inspire them.

Who are the three people, dead or alive, that you’d love to have dinner with?

  • My son, who passed this last year.
  • My younger brother who passed in 2014.
  • My mom who passed in 2012.
  • What’s the one album you’d take with you on a desert island?
Alex Fraser Combo albums – love that music - he is originally from Moosomin area!

If elected, what do you hope to accomplish in the next term?
The first priority would be to regain our freedom of choice, in your business, your homes, in schools, work places and personally and reinstate our Human Rights. We would revoke the mandates as we would not mandate anything, it would be up to the individual’s decision and choice. Because none of any of the other issues matter, if we don’t have our freedom.

Then move on to abolish the carbon tax.
