With more Ukrainian families moving into Moosomin, there is a need for furniture donations.

The latest Ukrainians to arrive, Ivan Fatieiev and Diana Kuchynska, arrived at the Regina airport Tuesday morning and will be in Moosomin Tuesday afternoon.

There are four other families expected to arrive shortly, and there is a need for additional donated furniture to help them get settled.

The furniture most needed right now is a bed, mattress, kitchen table and chairs. Kitchen supplies, cutlery, dishes, utensils, pots and pans, etc. are all needed.

Anyone who has any furniture to donate can contact Roman Chernykh at 306-434-0367 or email cherroman@gmail.com

Several Ukrainian families have settled in Moosomin, Wawota, and Esterhazy since the Russian invasion of Ukraine began earlier this year.

A local group has been fundraising to support them getting settled, as well as gathering furniture, and volunteering to help them with their paperwork, cell phones, housing, employment and everything else they need to get settled.
