Nine teams compete in Pinoy Moosomin invitational tournament

Tournament raises $1,000 for basketball court, new high school jerseys

Nine teams from around the region participated in the Celebration Ford Invitational Tournament organized by the Pinoy Moosomin Community from April 1-2 in Moosomin. There were two Moosomin teams, two Brandon teams, one Rocanville team, one Kipling team, one Virden team, one Oxbow team, and one Carlyle team at the event. The champions of the tournament were the Virden team.

The tournament also doubled as a fundraiser, bringing in $1,000 for a new outdoor basketball court in Moosomin as well as for new basketball jerseys for McNaughton High School.

Forrester is a professional basketball player who used to play basketball with the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) in the Philippines. He now resides in Moosomin.<br />

<b>$5,000 from Celebration Ford for new basketball court</b><br />
Celebration Ford made a $5,000 donation toward the construction of Terry Lynd Court on Saturday, April 1.<br />
The Pinoy Moosomin Community and Jeff Skulmoski have started the ball rolling on fundraising for a new outdoor basketball court in Moosomin by the swimming pool. Both the PMC and Skulmoski are putting $10,000 toward the court.<br />
Celebration Ford’s donation of $5,000 brings the fundraising total for the new court to $25,000.<br />
In total, around $100,000 needs to be raised for the new court.<br />
