The Communities in Bloom (CIB) committee are excited for the CIB judges to tour Moosomin. The committee has a lot of work to do before the judges arrive in August.

Organizer Jasmine Davidson, says they’re excited to tour the judges this year and show them the community’s work that has gone into cleaning and beautifying yards.

“I am super excited to be getting closer to the judges coming, and I know the committee is as well. We cannot wait to show the town to the judges again this year, and let them see all the improvements since last year.

“The community can get ready for Communities in Bloom judges day by keeping your yard nice and tidy, and keeping the town clean, just cleaning up after yourself. We can look after the town all together to make sure everything looks good for the judges.”

Davidson says they’re working on planning the last finishing touches before the judges arrive.

“I think our sign, if we get it up, will be one of the most exciting things to show the judges, that would be cool because that was something the judges had mentioned last year that they wanted us to do. So, it would be really nice to show that we did that.”

The committee is working together to get the town ready.

“For the committee, we just need to keep working on getting everything planned and arranged. Getting the mural and the sign, just finishing touches.

“One of the final steps is the mural, and Co-op has officially said they would donate the paint which is really nice, and working on the sign getting approved.”

Davidson says the judges will meet at the Town Office on August 7 and 8 to tour the town, Moosomin Regional Park, and Pipestone Hills Golf Course.

“The judges come to Moosomin before the tour even starts because they like to tour it themselves and get a little background, then we meet with them at the town office. Then, we start our tour and hit all of our 24 locations and we have a coffee break that the Armoury puts on which is really nice. Then, a big festive supper to finish the day off with the judges.”
