One fatality in semi collision on Highway 1

On August 5 at approximately 7:40 a.m., Indian Head RCMP received a report of a collision on Highway #1 near Wolseley, SK.

Officers immediately responded. Investigation determined a semi struck a second semi that was parked on the shoulder of the highway.

There were no occupants in the parked semi. There were two occupants in the other. The passenger was declared deceased by EMS at the scene. He has been identified as a 35-year-old male from Calgary. His family has been notified. The adult male driver was taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening in nature.

Highway #1 was closed during initial investigation but has since re-opened.

Indian Head RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
