After a brief illness, at the age of 83, Rodney’s loving family said goodbye at the General Hospital in Regina, Saskatchewan.

In June of 1968 he married Jeannette Knezacek of Esterhazy. They were blessed with three children, Dean, Derek, and Holly. The family lived in Esterhazy until 1979 when they purchased the farm from Jeannette’s Aunt Rosie and Uncle Adolph Pangracs in the Kolin district.

Rodney continued to work at the mine and grain farm. He retired from IMC in 2001 and retired from farming in 2022.
