Highway 1 closed from Moosomin to Winnipeg

Highway 1 is currently closed from Moosomin to Winnipeg, as are many other highways in Manitoba Wednesday morning. , and Eastbound traffic should stop at Moosomin.
The gates are closed on Highway 1 west of Virden so veicles that make it that far will be stranded on the highway.
Eastbound traffic should stop at Moosomin. Local churches are prepared to help if some travellers remain stranded in Moosomin until the Manitoba highways reopen.
A major winter storm has hit the area, but Moosomin is the extreme western end of the area affected —there is heavy snow and high winds at the centre of the storm in Manitoba.
