Downtown parking to be discussed at Chamber meeting this Tuesday

A discussion on downtown parking will take place at the Moosomin Chamber of Commerce meeting this Tuesday, September 16.
The town held a public meeting in the summer to gather feedback and ideas to a shortage of parking in downtown Moosomin. The results of that meeting and next steps will be discussed at the chamber meeting on Tuesday.
Peer support network presentation
There will also be a presentation on peer support networks by a Mark Jago with a group trying to set up a network of peer support groups for mental health and addictions across the province. There is a proposal for a recovery centre in Moosomin. Having a local peer support group for people once they are out of the centre will help assist those people and would benefit the community with or without a recovery centre.
Rand Teed will also be at the meeting. Teed is working with the peer support network and working with recovery centre applications. Teed will also be on the Evan Bray radio show at 10 am Monday, September 15 speaking about compassionate intervention.
Envision Counselling
Envision Counselling is setting up an office in Moosomin and will be at the Chamber meeting to talk about the services they are providing, and why they have decided to expand their services into the Moosomin area.
Terry Lynd Court
Leo Ilustrisimo and Jeff Skulmoski will also talk about the final fundraising push for the Terry Lynd basketball court. Jeff Skulmoski will also talk about the Community Acres project.
Fundraiser for Angela Hales
Kyle Jeannot will speak about an upcoming fundraiser for Angela Hales on September 20. Angela and her husband Chad own Moosomin Sports Excellence.
Angela suffered a brain bleed recently, and is on a long road to recovery. The fundraiser will take place at Skout Brewing, and is being hosted by the Kinsmen, Moose Creek Store and Skout Brewing.
Gee Bee Construction
Gee Bee Construction will introduce themselves at the meeting. Gee Bee recently purchased Margetts Construction in Moosomin.
Trends Mercantile
A new business on Moosomin’s Main Street—Trends Mercantile—will introduce themselves at the meeting. The business sells handmade items, coffee, treats and baking.
EDO update
Moosomin EDO Casey McCormac will give an economic development update at the Chamber meeting.
Spookarama
There will also be a presentation on Spookarama. Spookarama is a dance for students in Grades 6-12 held on Halloween each year to give them something to do on Halloween night.
The meeting takes place at the Canalta Hotel banquet room at 11:45 am. Lunch will be served and everyone is welcome.
