Travis Patron from Redvers has been arrested and charged with one count of willful promotion of hatred after Carlyle RCMP received a report of hateful material being posted online in a public forum. Patron was arrested on April 10 in Carlyle for wilfully promoting hatred against an identifiable group.
Patron has a long criminal record that includes assault and previous hate charges.

In 2022 he was convicted on two counts of assault causing bodily harm against two women, and was sentenced to concurrent 18-month sentences. The assaults against the two women occurred in the fall of 2019 after Patron had been in conversation with them earlier in the evening. The women told police Patron offered them rides home, and when they declined, the assault occurred. Both had visible injuries from the incident and were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Patron was also jailed in 2021 for wilfully promoting hate towards an identifiable group, serving one year behind bars.

In 2021 he was found guilty of mischief, stemming from an incident at the Redvers branch of the Royal Canadian Legion, and two counts of breach of an undertaking, after he disrupted an event at the Legion Hall claiming he had ownership of the building. Patron had previously sent a letter to the Town of Redvers saying he believed he had the right to claim the Legion building as his own. He was also arrested after breaking into the Legion hall.

Patron was also charged with four criminal charges in connection to an incident at the Saskatchewan legislature in 2021 after refusing to leave and fighting with security personnel inside the legislature.

In 2021 he was involved in an incident in the CBC building, disturbing staff and trying to enter a restricted area.

In 2019 he faced assault charges in both Ontario and Quebec.

Patron ran for the now deregistered Canadian Nationalist Party in the 2019 federal election in the Souris-Moose Mountain riding.

He is scheduled to appear in Carlyle Provincial Court on May 13 for his latest charges.
