It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Irene Briggs, beloved wife, mom, grandma, sister and aunt on October 29, 2013.
Irene’s love of life and her joy at family births, weddings, visits and reunions will be remembered by the many people who loved her. She enjoyed lengthy phone calls with family members and friends and treasured the time spent with her grandchildren.
She was a wonderful woman who warmed a room with her presence, always with a listening ear, a shoulder to lean on, wise advice, soothing words or gentle comforting touch. Irene was proud of her family and her passing has left a huge void in our hearts and those of her extended family and friends.
She will be dearly missed by her loving husband Dennis; sons Darcy (Janice) and Dallis (Jadine); daughter Deanne (Doug); grandsons Austin and Adrian; siblings, Jean, Iris, Larry and Darlene. She was predeceased by her parents George and Clara Zazalack; sister Joyce and brothers-in-law Richard, Herbert and Hubert.
A celebration of Irene’s life will be held at McInnis and Holloway’s Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.
