It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved, Eileen Lewis nee Davidson, on June 6, 2022 at age 77.
She was loved by all and so many were fortunate to experience her kindness.
She is predeceased by her parents, Russell and Lena Davidson, James and Maybel Lewis and brother-in-law, Larry.
She is survived by her husband, Edwin, children Brent (Jessie), Randy (Cheryl) and Kelly (Clint), grandchildren, Danielle, Kylee, Ashley, Taylor, Amanda, Emily, Luke, Bryson, Daylen, Kyran and Nate and great-grandchild, Maverick, as well as her sister, Caroline (Bob), and family.
She was born in Miniota and grew up on the Davidson Family Farm near Willen.
It was in high school that she met Ed, and they settled on the Lewis Family Farm near McAuley in 1964. She partnered in the success of the farm by spending many hours milking cows, hauling grain, and sorting cattle, all while raising three active children with Ed, before retiring to Virden in 2002.
Throughout her life, Eileen dedicated her time to her community, from working as an education assistant at McAuley school, to volunteering at the Food Cupboard in Virden for many years. She was always ready to put others first and lend a helping hand to those who needed it.
She enjoyed gardening, ceramics, and spending time with family. Her calendar was full of her grandchildren’s activities and coffee dates or bingo with the girls.
Many will miss Eileen’s warm hugs. She was a kind, gentle, compassionate woman with an endless amount of love for her family and friends.
Cremation has taken place and a graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 27, at 1 p.m. at Virden Cemetery Columbarium.
If friends so desire, donations may be made to a charity of their choice.
