The family of Bert Skulmoski would like to announce his passing on December 9, 2022 in Edmonton, Alberta after a brief illness. Many thanks to the kind and caring staff at the Royal Alexandra Hospital and the Parkland County EMS. He is survived by his children David Skulmoski (Maria), Corinne Skulmoski (David Pettis), Connie Wells (Brian), his sister Patricia Levesque, his beloved grandchildren David Pettis, Catherine Skulmoski, Jordan Skulmoski and Tia Wells, great-grandchildren Noah and Tyler Skulmoski as well as various nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brothers Edmund and Charles Skulmoski, his parents Peter and Rose Skulmoski and his favorite cousin Alfred Skulmoski.

Born in Fairlight, Saskatchewan and raised on a farm, Dad used to ride a pony to school. After his retirement from Esso he was a beekeeper until age 89! Life is sweeter with Bert’s honey. The highlight of his career at Esso was four years spent in the great white north. His grandchildren loved him for his crazy sense of humor and his rebellious nature. A talented and accomplished individual, he had many varied interests throughout his long life including wood carving, painting, fishing, hunting, gardening, hockey, judo and flying. He won many gymkhana ribbons with his beloved horse Star. He considered himself a naturalist who loved trees and clouds, his horses and pets, the birds and the bees and was in turn a magnet for all creatures great and small.

A celebration of life will be held in the spring which was one of his favorite seasons.

Donations can be made to the Edmonton Humane Society in his honor.

Happy Trails in heaven Dad, until we meet again.
