Arlene is survived by her son Dwayne (Diane), grandchildren Rachelle (Zane) and Andrew, great-grandchildren Ryder, Kinzley, Peyton and Knighten. Arlene is also survived by her daughter Peggy (Dave), sister Lenora Sich and brother Les Bamforth. along with nieces, nephews and cousins.
She met Doug and they were engaged on December 25, 1960. This was the beginning of why she had a great love for Christmas and the memories of happiness that surrounded this time of year.
An early summer wedding occurred on June 3, 1961. They resided on the family farm 1/2 mile north of Wapella.
They welcomed their son Dwayne in November of 1962 and daughter Peggy in June of 1964.
In 1972, a home was built to replace the old farm house.
Christmas 1972 was celebrated in the new home and they made more special memories.
The old house was gutted and demolished the following year to open up the amazing view to the west.
In the fall of 2007, Arlene moved off the farm and into a house in Wapella, and she resided there until June of 2023.
At this time she moved to Sunrise Villa in Maryfield. While her stay at the Villa was brief, she enjoyed the staff and residents. She found new friends that loved to puzzle just like her, do crafts and attend many group activities. The home cooked meals and snacks also made this transition into assisted living go smoothly.
In memory of Arlene, donations can be made to TeleMiracle or the Southeast Integrated Health Care Centre.
