Gerald James Plewes was born on July 1, 1934 to Art and Ellen Plewes (Potter) and older brother, Bill. Gerry loved the farm and working with cattle.
He purchased his own farm and then later on, his mom and dad’s where he continued on with the life he had been raised to appreciate.
He worked passionately at Dauncey’s Auction Market, The Pool Livestock yards and then went on to become a Saskatchewan Government Brand Inspector.
In addition, Gerry continued to farm for many years until renting his cultivated land and pasture.
Gerry and Audrey spent many days going to auction sales, rodeos, for coffee with friends and attending the grandkids’ hockey games, ball games and other activities they participated in. They loved to help out with babysitting when Jason and Alli were young and stepping in to drive them to games and practices.
Gerry and Audrey remained on the farm until the fall of 2023 when Gerry’s health made it necessary to make the move to town. Gerry passed away peacefully on April 25, 2025 at the Long-Term Care in the Southeast Integrated Care Centre with Audrey, Brenda and Darren at his side.
Gerry was predeceased by his father Art, his mother Ellen, his brother Bill and Brenda’s mother Valerie.
He will be loved and remembered by his partner and best friend, Audrey, daughter Brenda and her husband Darren, grandson Jason and wife Taneeka, his great grand-children Ridge and Arbor, and granddaughter Alli and husband Chad. His grand-children and great grand-children were his pride and joy! He also leaves to mourn his passing numerous nieces and their families, Audrey’s family and the Higgins family.
In Loving Memory Dad
You are at peace, your soul at rest.
But that won’t stop the tears.
As I remember the special times
we shared throughout the years.
You taught me oh so many things
and you always showed me the way.
You helped me overcome hard times.
To be the person I am today.
Though I’m no longer a child and you’re no longer here.
I’ll never let go of the memories.
I’ll always hold them dear.
