It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Marilynn Carole Rogers (nee Mooney) on July 30, 2025.

Marilynn was predeceased by her husband Wilf of 61 years in March 2020 and her son-in-law Mike Oberg in March 2023. She is survived by her sisters Janice (Daryl), Faye (Ron), Gayle, Sheila (Roland), her brother Jack (Judy), her four children Eldon (Christine), Donelda (Nick), Karen, Linda (Steve), and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Marilynn was born to John and Clarice Mooney in Radville, Saskatchewan in November 1938. After attending Radville Christian College, Marilynn married her sweetheart Wilfred Rogers in October 1958. Their married life started on the Rogers’ family farm where they worked and raised their four children.

They lived on the farm for over 60 years before moving to Bolton Place in Virden, Manitoba in January 2019 where Marilynn continued to reside until her passing. Marilynn was a devoted wife and mother and a dedicated farm wife and hard worker. She could operate almost any piece of farm equipment and always provided more than enough food at meals. She was active in helping in the Manson community, was a volunteer at the thrift store in McAuley, and was a long-time active member of the Manson Church of Christ.

Marilynn enjoyed watching the Toronto Blue Jays, men’s and women’s curling, listening to country music, making jigsaw puzzles and doing word search. Marilynn had a little bit of spunk and was always up for a good laugh. She will be deeply missed by family and friends. A celebration of life for Wilf and Marilynn will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 1:30 pm at Elkhorn Elks Hall, Elkhorn, Manitoba.

For those who so desire, memorial tributes in memory of Marilynn may be made to Clearview Christian Camp c/o Ryan Fowler, Box 42, North Weyburn. SK, S0C 1X0, or to Alzheimer’s Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 4G2.
