It is with profound love and cherished memories that the family of Violet Penelope Lavrinoff (Peggy) announce her peaceful passing on Saturday, September 6, 2025, just four days after her 91st birthday.
Peggy was the beloved and devoted wife to the late Boris Lavrinoff, a cherished mother, a doting grandmother, great-grandmother and a treasured friend. She was born on September 2, 1934, in Moosomin, Saskatchewan to Jack (Arthur J.) and Ivy Pearse. She spent her childhood on the family farm in the Woodlands District alongside her sister, Emily. In the early 1950s, the family moved to Moosomin to operate the establishment that would become known as Pearse’s Motel.
It was in Moosomin that she met and married the love of her life, Boris, in 1955. They eventually settled in Regina in 1963, where they built a beautiful life and family together. A proud Canadian, Peggy instilled a deep love for her country in her family, journeying with them on extensive travels across its breadth, with many cherished trips to Banff and the majestic Rocky Mountains.
Peggy lived with a great zest for life and possessed a generous spirit that constantly supported and enabled the success of those around her. An accomplished artist and a member of the Regina Federation of Artists, her lasting legacy is captured in her beautiful artwork. Through her skilled brush, she preserved the soul of the prairies and the grandeur of the mountains, painting timeless scenes of old farm wagons, homesteads, bridges and flowers that will continue to tell her story for generations.
Above all, family was her most important masterpiece.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Boris; her parents Ivy W. and Arthur J. Pearse and her sister Emily St. Germain.
Her beautiful legacy lives on through her loving children: Vitty, Penny and Ben; her five adored grandchildren: Nathan (Nicole), Sarah, Brock, Blake and Karlee (Jarnail) and great-grandchildren: Logan, Felix and Oliver.
A funeral service to celebrate Peggy’s remarkable life was held in St. John’s Anglican Church, Fort Qu’Appelle, Saskatchewan on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 11 am with Rev. Ed Dunfield officiating. The interment followed in Lakeview Cemetery, Fort Qu’Appelle, Saskatchewan.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her love, her artistry and the beautiful life she created.
