Rick Heise, 52, of Esterhazy, Saskatchewan, passed away on November 13, 2025, at St. Anthony’s Hospital.

Born on March 24, 1973 in Yorkton to Norm and Wendy Heise, Rick grew up in Churchbridge and was proud to be Valedictorian of Churchbridge High School’s Class of 1991.

He completed his Bachelor of Education (1995) and Baccalaureate Certificate in Educational Psychology (1996) at the University of Manitoba, where he also met his wife, Erin. They married on August 12, 2000, and built a loving life together with their daughters, Shelby and Sara.

Rick began teaching at Little Saskatchewan Reserve before joining Esterhazy High School in 1999, where he spent 26 years inspiring students through his passion for computers, literature, and learning. He continued his education with a Certificate in Computing and Information Systems (2008) and a Master of Education in Technology and Design (2016). He was honoured with the Sea Star Award for Leadership in 2021.

Rick loved classic rock, coaching school sports, working on computers through “Rick’s Tech Shop,” and spending summers camping at Clear Lake or helping on the family farm. He had a special love for his Mustang cars and Harley Davidson, especially his prized 1986 5.0 Mustang T-top.

Rick is survived by his wife Erin; daughters Shelby and Sara; father Norm; brother Rod; nieces Hannah and Jolie; and mother-in-law Alda Foster. He was predeceased by his mother, Wendy, and father-in-law, Harold Foster.

He will be remembered for his kindness, humour, and unwavering dedication to his family, students, and community.

A private funeral service will be held at a later date. Interment to follow at Concordia Cemetery.
