It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Paulette at her home in Moosomin, Saskatchewan on October 11, 2025, beloved mother of Suzanne (Shawn) Chapman and loving grandmother to Spencer.

Paulette was born July 21, 1946, in Ponteix, Saskatchewan. She was the youngest of 12 children born to Marceau and Louise Bourlon and grew up as the cherished baby sister of a large and loving family.

In 1966, Paulette married the love of her life, Dennis, and together they built a full and hardworking life on the farm north of McAuley, raising their two children, Gary and Suzanne. Paulette embraced farm life with strength and humour, from harvest meals to cattle roundups, and later balanced those responsibilities with her work at the Moosomin hospital. There, she earned her Red Seal certification and became a respected cook known for her dedication, crisp white uniforms, and jovial camaraderie with coworkers.
After selling the farm, Paulette and Dennis moved to McAuley, where they both continued working until retirement. In 2013, they began a new chapter of their lives at Kin Place, joining the Moosomin community. Even after Dennis’ passing later that year, Paulette remained active and engaged—volunteering at the nursing home with many visits to patients in the hospital, helping with Kin Place events, and tending to the gardens and flowers with the same pride she poured into their home and farm in McAuley. Her care, commitment, and sense of community remained constant throughout her life, always cherishing time spent with family and friends.

She was a proud sister, aunt, mother, and grandmother. The arrival of Spencer, her grandson, brought immense joy, and she embraced her role as “Grandma” with pride and love. She was endlessly curious and supportive of everything he did.

Paulette will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to family, her resilience, her steady and reassuring presence. As a gifted cook and meticulous homemaker, she leaves behind a legacy of love that will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

Paulette was predeceased by her husband, Dennis Lewis, son Gary Lewis, her parents, Marceau and Louise Bourlon, sisters Marie-Paule Bourlon, Henriette (Amedee) Monette, Fernande (Armand) Carignan, Madeleine (Leo) Prive, and Lorraine Bourlon, brothers Roger Bourlon, Richard Bourlon, Marcel 1 Bourlon, Noel Bourlon, Marcel Bourlon, and Denis (Vera) Bourlon, in-laws George and Bertha Lewis, sister-in-law Gladys (Garth) Gerrand, and brother-in-law Huntley Lewis.

In addition to her immediate family, Paulette is lovingly remembered by sisters-in-law Paulette Bourlon, Liliane Bourlon, Yolande Bourlon, Henriette Bourlon, Joan Lewis, and Phyllis (Orville) Harper, as well as numerous nephews, nieces, extended family members and a circle of friends and communities.

A Celebration of Life was held at McAuley Rink on Monday, October 27th, 2025, with interment at the McAuley Cemetery.
