
Dr. Dean Lyle Struble died in White Rock, BC April 22, 2014 at the age of 77. He is survived by Norma, his loving wife of 56 years; daughter and son-in-law, Marlene and Wayne Denet of Spruce Grove, Alta.; daughter and son-in-law Dianne and John Teslak of Cranbrook, B.C.; and daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Victor Timpauer of Mesa, Arizona; grandchildren, Evan and Abby Denet, Ryan and Rachel Teslak, Matthew and Nicolas Timpauer.
Dean was born and raised in the Mountney area. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Saskatchewan and became a Research Scientist with Agriculture Canada. He ended his career as Director of Research at Vancouver and Agassiz Research Stations.
In retirement Dean was a volunteer advisor with Canadian Executive Services Organization. He worked with B.C. First Nations people and had international assignments in eight countries.
Dean enjoyed helping people to help themselves to achieve their goals in agricultural projects, human resources and management issues. He was a model, a mentor and an inspiration to his family and others in the world.
Following a private interment at the Wawota Cemetery, Norma and her family welcome extended family and friends to a celebration of Dean’s life.
The celebration will be held at 3 p.m. at the Wawota town hall on Saturday, July 5, 2014.
