
Joseph Henri Rene Robert LaRochelle, known by all as Robert, was born Dec. 22, 1937 in Gravelbourg, Sask. to Rene and Rosa LaRochelle. He was the oldest of five children. He lived on a farm at Coppen, Sask. and attended school at the Piche country school. After his schooling he worked as an auto mechanic and also helped his dad on the farm.
His passion was mechanics and he eventually became known for being able to fix any tractor around. Over the years, Robert worked at different places including Gillis Motors, Bradley’s, Normans and Sons, D.A. Miller and Sons in Tantallon, Ron Miller and Sons in Whitewood, J.I. Case, Toder Equipment in Moosomin, Pipestone Valley Agro in Moosomin, as well as for every farmer who called for a hand.
He also enjoyed dancing when he was younger and watching hockey.
Predeceased by his parents, brothers-in-law Roger Bourlon and Clifford McMillan, Robert is survived by his children and their families: Rene, Jessie, Dominic, Rene Jr., Justin and Dylan; Carmen (Darren) Sterling, Shastidy and Brooke; Candice (Eren) Scott, Donovan, Camdyn and Kellen; Lisette (Tyler) Humeniuk, Shayla and Shalisa; and their mother Susan LaRochelle.
He is also survived by his family from a previous marriage: Paul LaRochelle, Louise LaRochelle (Gregory Ariss), Kevin, Christopher, Travis and Shandra; Francine LaRochelle (Ron Ruckle) and Ashley; Pierre LaRochelle (Lori McCoomb), Ian, Brian and Taylor; Paulette LaRochelle (Jeffrey Schafer), Jennifer and Kayla; Michael LaRochelle; Joanne (Fernie) Champigny, Danette; Lise LaRochelle (Brian Fortin), Desiree and Tatiana. Robert is also survived by his sisters Paulette Bourlon, Pierrette (Arthur) Dumonceaux, and Denise McMillan, his brother Norm (Jackie) LaRochelle, and by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Robert was dearly loved by his children and grandchildren and will be sadly missed by them all.
