
With sad hearts the family of Jean (Rushton) Grainger announce her passing on September 30, 2014 in Moosomin, Saskatchewan.
Jean was born on the Rushton family farm on December 10, 1934 to Jack and Alice Rushton. Jean attended school at Hillburn and Rocanville village school.
She worked many years at the farm and then as head cook at Moosomin Union Hospital. She kept busy gardening, renovating her home, cooking, knitting, sewing, writing poems, and volunteering wherever she saw help was needed.
Jean’s family is thankful to the caring staff at the Southeast Integrated Care Centre in Moosomin where Jean spent her last few years.
Jean leaves to mourn her six children: Danny (Cindy) Grainger, Pat (Ken) Miskiman, Richard (Bonnie) Grainger, Laura (Terry) Low, Donna Grainger, and Anna (Rick) Burton, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jean also leaves her sister Freda Armengaud, brothers Ben (Wylda) Rushton and Bill (Beverly) Rushton, and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on October 4, 2014 at St. Paul’s United Church, Rocanville, with interment at Webster’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or to a charity of your choice.
