
Edith Greening passed away peacefully on September 30, 2014 in Moosomin, Sask.
Edith was born on July 3, 1929 to Gabriel and Hulda Springer at Meeting Lake, Sask. The family moved to a farm at Rocanville in 1943.
She married Max Greening on October 19, 1946 ,settling into a busy farm life at Rocanville for eight years before moving to Wapella. Here she was a hard working farm wife, growing large gardens, always tending to her beautiful flowers indoors and out. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, socializing and attending local dances. She was employed at the nursing home for 19 years.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children and family: Marlyne Scott, Darlene (Stan) Larson, Donnie (Carol) Greening, Marie (Norman) Buckland, and Elaine (David) Hall; 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; siblings Karl (Vera) Springer, Lucy Hintz and Alma Werner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Edith was predeceased by her loving husband Max on March 28, 1980, her parents, twin sister Frieda Wushke, a sister in infancy, brothers Willie, Ed and George, and son-in-law Bob Scott.
A funeral service was held on October 4, 2014 at Carscadden Funeral Chapel in Moosomin with Pastor Edmund Mielke of Grace Lutheran Church, Brandon, Manitoba officiating, with interment at Wapella.
Thank you to the staff at South East Integrated Care Centre in Moosomin where she spent her last few years.
She will be missed but her memory lives in our hearts forever.
