
Catherine Georgina (Toots) Fyke was born in Rosetown, Sask. on June 13, 1921 to George and Roberteena Franklin. She moved to Welwyn at a young age.
She met Doug Fyke and they were married on June 28, 1941. On August 31, 1946, they were blessed with their first daughter Joan and on January 12, 1951, they were blessed with their second daughter Bobbi. They farmed in the Stanley district for years.
Georgina loved to knit, have family gatherings and cook. Georgina always said "If you leave my house hungry, it was your own darn fault."
Doug and Georgina sold their farm in 1977 and moved into Moosomin. On February 7, 1987, she lost the love of her life, Doug. She then sold the house and moved into Regency Court and made it her home until 2013. Early this year, she moved into Poppy Place.
Georgina passed away November 10, 2014 at the age of 93 in the South East Integrated Care Centre. She was predeceased by the love of her life, Doug; her parents George and Roberteena; her two sisters Dot and Margaret; and her brother Lloyd.
She is survived by her two daughters, Joan (Cliff) Kolach of Winnipeg and Bobbi Fyke of Moosomin; her four grandchildren: David (Raegan) Verspeek of Moosomin, Kerri (Glenn) Lutcher of Yorkton, Marnie Kolach of Winnipeg and Dana (Emilson) Kolach of Winnipeg; her eight great-grandchildren: Daelyn Praski, Tiara Lutcher, Chelsy Praski, Gillian Lutcher, Tyler and Tyson Praski, Lorenn Lutcher and Chloe Kolach. She is also survived by her special neice Christine Bilkey of Moosomin, Don Dilts of Moosomin, her cousin Kay (Cliff) Kristjanson of Neepawa, Man. and her sister-in-law Marje Hastings of Regina. She will be dearly missed by all family members and friends.
A memorial service was held at the G.R. Carscadden Funeral Chapel in Moosomin on Monday, November 17. Interment was in the Moosomin South Cemetery.
