George Bowey

George was born and raised on the family farm in the Archie Municipality, the third son of Ernest and Catherine Bowey.
George leaves great memories with his wife Islay; children Catherine Bush and Gordon (Brenda) Bowey; granddaughters Nicole (Scott), Michelle (Neal), Danette (Jeff), Charlotte (Shawn); and great-grandchildren Skyler Breanna, Anthony, James, Shelby, Cody and Colton; two brothers Hugh and Francis (Margaret); and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
George was predeceased by his parents, his brother Jim, son-in-law Jake and sister-in-law Jean.
George farmed successfully until retirement in 2002. When finding too much time on his hands, he took up curling, golfing, card games and activities at the Moosomin seniors’ centre. George loved to visit and, because of his gentle nature, had many friends.
A funeral service was held June 4, 2015 and George was laid to rest at Welwyn cemetery.
Donations may be made to Moosomin Long Term Care in memory of George.
