
On Tuesday, March 12, 2013, Stanley Szafron, beloved husband of Clara Szafron, passed away at the Moosomin South East Integrated Care Centre (Poppy Place) at the age of 86 years. A celebration of life service was held in the St. Andrew's United Church in Wapella on Monday, March 18, 2013 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Randall Neufeld officiating.
Stanley is survived by his loving wife Clara of 61 years and their children Terry (Joy) Szafron of Wapella, and family Todd (Paula) and Tara (Dwight); Rory (Susan) Szafron of Wapella and family Clayton (Brett); Amber (Dallas), Zachary, Quinlan; James (Janice) Szafron of Leduc, Alta. and family Curtis (Shelley), Mark, Jeremy, Clint, Kim, and Clayton (Daylene); Tami (Randy) Young of Wapella and family Justin (Kendra) and Jory; Lori-Sue (Ken) Hein of Wapella and family Luke and Zane; son-in-law John Courtney and family, Jacci and Kris (Tara), as well as twenty great-grandchildren; brothers George (Doreen) Szafron of Moosomin, Joe (Joan) Szafron of Regina; sisters Annie Marostica of Thunder Bay, Ont., Lena Clark of Wapella; sisters-in-law Jean Szafron of Moosomin, Ruth Beutler of Whitewood, Gertie Eifler of Sherwood Park, Alta.; brothers-in-law Ivan (Bernice) of Calgary, Bill Eifler (Linda) of Regina.
Stanley was predeceased by his daughter Karen Courtney; brothers Lawrence, John, Frank, Walter and Louis; sisters Mary Lasek and Nellie Szafron.
