The Family of Sharon Dixon are sad to announce the sudden passing of our beloved Mother and Grandmother who passed away at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina, Saskatchewan on Saturday February 13, 2016 at the age of 73.

Sharon Edna (Adair) Dixon was born in Virden hospital on July 8, 1942. She was raised on the farm on the Manitoba/Saskatchewan boundary line (MB side NW6-11-29 W1) in the Uppentot District. She was the daughter of David Robert Adair and Edna Mae Ramage who were married in Brandon, MB on November 12, 1936. They spent the first few years of their life around Tilsonburg, ON before moving back to Manitoba and purchasing the home farm. Sharon had a sister who died in infancy and was buried in Woodville Cemetery, and Sister Heather who passed away in Moosomin, SK.

Sharon received her schooling at McNaught School and later finished high school in Maryfield where she graduated in 1960. She then lived with her Grandma Ramage in Winnipeg, MB while she took a cosmetology course at Marvel on Portage Avenue in 1960-61. She worked in various towns before coming back home to Maryfield in 1963. She worked for Roy Jamieson before starting her own shop on Main Street in 1971. She owned the shop until she sold it in 2004.

Lloyd Alton Dixon proposed to Sharon on Valentine’s Day. It wasn’t long before the dresses were made and the Maryfield United Church was full of family and friends. On April 22, 1972 they said their vows. Their daughter Dava Loy was born on August 15, 1973 and son Douglas William on July 10, 1975. After the wedding the lived in Lloyd’s parents’ home. They built their own home which was completed in 1974; while it was being built they lived with Bill and Heather and Kelly Dixon.

Sharon was predeceased by her parents David (April 1, 1912-April, 26 1960) and Edna (February 15, 1914- February 2, 1993), baby sister Adair (September 28, 1940), Sister Heather (July 17, 1944-September 29, 2005), and husband Lloyd (May 18, 1928-October 10, 2008). She is survived by her daughter Dava Loy [Douglas Nicol] and daughters Lauren Heather and Shaeryn Anna; son Douglas [Carmen] and daughters Amelia and Bailey and son Brandon, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was held at St. Andrew’s United Church in Maryfield, Saskatchewan on Saturday, February 20th, 2016 at 2 p.m. Interment took place at Inglesfield Cemetery.
