Edith was born on July 11, 1936 in the Kamsack/Pelly area to Ernest and Lillian Rhodes. She was the oldest of three children—a sister Margaret and a brother Doug (deceased).
Edith passed away September 3, 2017 at Red Deer, Alta.
At a young age the family moved to the Carnoustie District where she grew up and attended school.
While out working she met and married Bill Pederson in 1954. They raised six children: Diane (Greg), Heather, Beverly (Warren), Bryon (Linda), Donna (Marcel) and Janice. There are 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Over the years Edith worked at various jobs: cook and housekeeping at Moosomin Hospital, waitress at Jorgenson’s in Moosomin, and many others she enjoyed. But her favourite job was being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Family was number one with her.
Edith and Bill enjoyed travelling and had been to every province but Newfoundland. She enjoyed hunting and fishing with Bill and friends. She loved sewing for her children when they were younger and more recently was into knitting baby blankets and outfits for the grandkids and great-grandkids.
Edith was predeceased by her parents, Ernest and Lillian Rhodes, her brother Doug, her husband Bill and a great-granddaughter Ayla.
